Reporting to the Line Maintenance and AOG Manager, this role is responsible for the performance of Part 145 Line Maintenance and AOG activity for TMSF. Will interface with customer requirements on Line Maintenance and AOG requests. Delivering 'World Class' standards in terms of safety, quality, cost, delivery and integrity.    




Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Reports to the Line Maintenance and AOG Manager.
  • Acts as Point of Contact for Line Maintenance enquiries outside of normal office hours, during his/her shift.
  • Manages and prioritises the workload for a TMSF Line Maintenance shift and AOG requirements.
  • Ensures projects are delivered in accordance with budget and associated costs.
  • Delivers projects as defined by Line Maintenance and AOG Manager.
  • Provides the appropriate facilities for all planned work, ensuring that the highest standards are met in terms of husbandry and working environment conducive to business aviation operators.
  • Ensures the presentation of all staff is commensurate with customers’ expectations, the including obligations associated with working on an airfield.
  • Establishes and promotes the safety and quality policy specified in the Quality & Safety Manual (TAG0001).
  • Ensures the appropriate aircraft type rated certifying staff as category B1 and B2 in accordance with part 66 and 145.A.35 are available. Also, appropriately task trained certifying staff qualified as Category A in accordance with part 66 and 145.A.35 to carry out minor scheduled line maintenance and simple defect rectification.
  • Ensures that a 'Certificate of Release to Service' is issued by appropriate aircraft type rated certifying staff.
  • Ensures all necessary tools and equipment are made available to perform the approved scope of work.
  • Embraces Company continuous improvement programs and contributes when required.
  • Delivers the highest standard for cabin appearance and presentation to the customer.
  • Manages scheduled, unscheduled & AOG Line Maintenance requirements 24/7 in conjunction with Line Maintenance and AOG Manager.
  • Ensures that staff appraisals are carried out for direct reports on a bi-annual basis.
  • Manages work order within Line operations.
  • Updates the Customer on progress, technical and spares issues whilst the aircraft is in work.
  • Coordinates AOG requests, with customer and maintenance management, and acts as focal point of contact for staff away from base outside of normal office hours.
  • Liaises with OEMs and their representatives on AOG requests.
  • Deputizes for Line Maintenance and AOG Manager at relevant management meetings and customer liaison meetings

Qualities & Knowledge: 

  • Thorough understanding of Part-145 requirements and basic understanding of Part M requirements & any other relevant regulations;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Basic understanding of continuous improvement philosophies;
  • Understanding of EH&S practices and policies;
  • Knowledge of human factors, human performance and limitations;
  • Knowledge of relevant parts of the maintenance organisation exposition and procedures;
  • Knowledge of occurrence reporting systems (mandatory and internal) and understanding of the importance of reporting occurrences, incorrect maintenance data and existing or potential defects;
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and Just culture;
  • Understanding of professional integrity, behaviour and attitude towards safety;
  • Understanding of conditions for ensuring continuing airworthiness of aircraft and components;
  • Ability to understand work orders, work cards and refer to and use applicable maintenance data;
  • Teamwork decision-making and leadership skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Holds EASA B1 or B2 part 66 license with more than 5 years aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Has a thorough understanding of Part 145, requirements and basic understanding of Part M.
  • Able to demonstrate the effective leadership of maintenance teams.
  • Able to negotiate with external organisations such as Key Suppliers.
